On March 16th, at 9pm, Espaço Guadiana, in Alcoutim, hosts another show as part of the “50 Years of Freedom” project: Os Dias da Rádio.

The importance of radio in the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s in Portugal and around the world is the theme of this show by Companhia Rituais dell Arte, conceived, written and staged by Miguel Ruivo Duarte.

On stage there will be a fictitious broadcast of the program “”Aguenta Coração com tanta emoção”, with some very popular radio items, namely: Rádio Novela, “Eu dou-te o arroz”, a music competition, “Os reis da canção da rádio”, a moment of comedy, a tribute to Raul Solnado, the Parodiantes de Lisboa and, also, references to Orson Wells’ War of the Worlds and what happened in Portugal in the invasion of the Martians in Carcavelos through an invention of a program on Rádio Renascença.

As for music, songs by Júlia Babo, Maria da Graça, Milú, Maria Eugénia, Irmãs Meireles, Francisco José, Tristão da Silva and Madalena Iglésias will be heard.

This is a show that invites the public to travel through time, remembering songs and habits typical of this telephony environment!
