Welcome and Reception – Museums

In the museums open to the public (River Museum, Blacksmith’s House, Primary School and Archaeology Museum), visitors/users are welcomed at the reception and informed about the long-term exhibitions.

Shops – Alcoutim Castle, River Museum and Casa dos Condes

Facilities where you can find and purchase a range of publications and interactive materials, published by Alcoutim Municipal Council/Municipal Museum, and some promotional material.

Semi-guided Visits – Alcoutim Castle

Semi-guided visits of the Religious Art and Dr João Dias Museums and the Alcoutim Historical Centre are available by means of prior registration at Alcoutim Castle.

Documentation Centre – Municipal Library

The centre brings together all the information gathered through research focusing on the Municipality. It makes the entire collection of documents in the fields of museology, local history and cultural heritage available to the public, and in particular to students, teachers and researchers.

Auditoriums – Alcoutim Castle and River Museum

Venues for holding socio-cultural events, organised both by Alcoutim Municipal Council and by outside bodies. They are ideal for small-scale presentations and training sessions.

Amphitheatre – Alcoutim Castle

Multi-purpose venue for holding cultural events, organised by Alcoutim Municipal Council or the Municipal Museum and by outside bodies, facing the town of Alcoutim, the River Guadiana and the Andalusian town of Sanlúcar de Guadiana.

Temporary Exhibition Room – Municipal Library

Facility located in the Casa dos Condes equipped for temporary exhibitions of painting, sculpture, handicrafts, photographs and others.
