Alcoutim Castle with restricted access

On the weekend of March 12th and 13th, Alcoutim Castle has conditioned access:

  • On March 12th, it is closed to the public;
  • On March 13, it is open to the public from 9 am to 2 pm.

Religious Art Museum temporarily closes to the public

Due to the current epidemiological situation, the Religious Art Museum, in Av Duarte Pacheco, in Alcoutim, is closed to the public from March 10th to 16th, 2022.

We invite you to visit Alcoutim Castle, every day, from 9 am to 5 pm, and the Rio Museum and the Dr. João Dias, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm. Thank you for your understanding and we hope to welcome you soon to this nucleus of the Municipal Museum of Alcoutim.

Religious Art Museum open to the public

From Fabruary 17th, the Religious Art Museum, in Av Duarte Pacheco, in Alcoutim, will be open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.

“Olhares sobre o Guadiana”

“Olhares sobre o Guadiana” is the theme of the “Public Land Art” Intervention that artists Renato Brito (Exame) and João Frazão (Homo Sapiens), from the Satori Artistic Association, developed on the north and east walls of the River Museum.

This action is part of the “Artes no Guadiana” project that Alcoutim developed within the scope of  AMAL’s candidacy, in partnership with the municipalities of the Algarve, for the CRESC ALGARVE 2020 Operational Program, entitled “Programação Cultural em Rede”, which consists of actions in the area of arts (musical, scenic, circus, plastic, etc.) to support the region’s artists.

Spaces closed due to COVID-19

Due to the current epidemiological situation, the spaces of Alcoutim Municipal Museum, such as Blacksmith’s House and Archaeology Museum – Castle of Alcoutim, are closed to the public from January 13, 2022.

We invite you to visit the River Museum and the Dr. João Dias Museum, from Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
