From September 20th to October 4th, the River Museum is closed to the public.

We thank you for your understanding and invite you to visit the other museums of the Alcoutim Municipal Museum.

From September 12 to 16, the opening hours of the Municipal Museum to the public will change:

River Museum – open to the public from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm;

Archeology Museum (Alcoutim Castle) – open to the public from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

We thank you for your understanding and invite you to visit the other centers of the Municipal Museum of Alcoutim.

From the 12th to the 16th of September, the municipal museum team will attend the training session “Spanish Language – Attendance and Reception” promoted by AMAL.

This training action is part of the AMAL – Municipalities 2030 project – and “aims to respond to the training needs of workers in municipal organizations in the Algarve region, giving priority to training interventions aimed at promoting administrative modernization and increasing efficiency.” in the provision of public services. The aim is, therefore, to strengthen management skills, reorganization processes, organizational restructuring and innovation, management, operation and use of ICT. Ethics in public service and the integration of new professional staff will be also contemplated.”

The International Congress in the Municipalities of Sanlúcar-Alcoutim is the final activity of “The project of R+D+I Cultural Heritage and Memorias de Frontera en el Sur Ibérico” (2020/22) carried out by teams of anthropology and architecture of the universities Pablo de Olavide, from Seville, from Évora and from the Algarve and other institutions and have the main objective of disseminating and promoting investigations and interventions in cross-border heritage.

The location and organization of the conference, in close collaboration with its local administrations, wants to promote the agency of border territories for a work of cooperation and involvement of different research and intervention experiences in cross-border patrimonies.
